Legal medical industry in Arizona
Arizona is among 15 states that have laws permitting eligible patients to consume medicinal marijuana for the treatment of approved conditions and terminal illnesses. Eligibility for a marijuana recommendation depends upon both type and severity of an illness, and all patients must first speak with a physician to determine if medical marijuana is the right treatment for them.
The actual price of medical-grade marijuana can be fairly high, and is perhaps mainly due to the cost and investment involving the cultivation of medical-grade cannabis. It also depends on a number of other factors, including, the particular strain purchase, potency, the parts of plant being purchased, and the discretion of the dispensary and grower it was acquired from.
The price of medical marijuana also varies from state-to-state, considering that some purchases may be twice as expensive in some states than in others. Because Arizona’s medical marijuana program is officially in effect yet, it is currently unclear how the prices will be set by licensed dispensaries.
